I Pushed the Button
On October 1, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., I pushed the button to publish the Fabrilously Speaking website.
Then I got quiet.
I told a few people, looked it up on Google, and kept going back to the website to see if it was really there. It reminded me of bringing my daughters home from the hospital and checking on them while they slept. Yes, I knew I had published it. But I still needed another look. 🤣
I thought I would immediately announce it to everybody. Instead, I wanted a little time with what I had been carrying.
This journey started earlier in the year. There was learning, praying, making decisions, changing my mind, and figuring things out as I went. Once I began building, things started coming together. Not everything at once, but enough for me to keep moving.
By the time I pressed “publish,” it felt like giving birth. There was a sigh of "releasing".
What the Moment Taught Me
There is work involved in carrying an idea. But there is also something required of us when it is time to release it.
While I was building, I could keep adjusting things privately. Publishing meant allowing people to see what I had been working on. That made me emotional and somewhat nervous in a way I hadn’t expected. There feelings of what will they think, will I be judged, will I be rejected, the what will happen when I finally "push the button".
It also reminded me that preparation has a purpose. The learning, refining, and small decisions weren’t separate from the work. They were helping me become someone who could care for it.
I’m still learning. A live website doesn’t mean I suddenly have every answer. It means I took this step, and now I have something to steward.
Philippians 1:6 reminds us that God continues the good work He begins in us. I’m grateful that His work in me did not stop when I pushed that button.
Maybe you’re carrying something, too. An idea, a story, a business, or a step you know you need to take. Give it the preparation it deserves. Ask for help where you need it. And be honest with yourself about whether you’re still preparing or afraid to let anyone see it.
That is a question worth taking to God.
Your Next Step
What have you been working toward?
What still needs preparation, and what is ready for action?
Choose one practical step. Make the call. Finish the draft. Ask the question. You don’t have to do everything today, but you can do the next thing.
And when you reach a meaningful moment, allow yourself to enjoy it. I needed a quiet evening to admire mine before opening the door to everyone else.
Welcome to Fabrilously Speaking.
My prayer is that you find encouragement here, feel understood, and have a few good laughs along the way.
With love, Fabri 💛
